Start to Finish STATEMENT | Monaco - Hapoel | R38 BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS 2025-26
Monaco finished the EuroLeague regular season in style, securing itself at least two more games by leading from start to finish and routing visiting Hapoel 105-85 on Friday night. The win means Monaco will finish the regular season in seventh or eighth place with a 22-16 record. Meanwhile, Hapoel dropped to 23-15 and lost its chance to hold home-court advantage in the playoffs. It finished sixth and will face either Real Madrid or Valencia Basket in the best-of-five playoffs. Monaco took control right away behind Mike James, Alpha Diallo and Jaron Blossomgame. It led 25-11 late in the first quarter, was up by as many as 19 in the second, then opened the third quarter with a 14-2 run to blow the game wide open. Blossomgame scored 18 of his career-high 30 points in the second half, while James was everywhere with 20 points and 7 assists. Matthew Strazel had 11 points and 9 assists, and Diallo and Daniel Theis scored 11 apiece. Chris Jones paced Hapoel with 17 points and a career-best 10 assists, while Dan Oturu had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Hapoel launched an 0-8 opening burst and never looked back, dominating inside to take a 14-26 lead after 10 minutes. Little changed as Chris Jones scored 9 second-quarter points, helping to make it 41-52 at the break. Lonnie Walker netted 8 points in a hurry to narrow the gap, but Hapoel still led, 66-73, with 10 minutes left. Antonio Blakeney’s four-point play highlighted an 0-8 run midway through the fourth, securing a commanding victory. Jones commanded Hapoel with a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists, while Elijah Bryant led the scoring with 19 points.
